Why Compare Timezones?

Remote teams, distributed companies, and global businesses need to coordinate across timezones. Scheduling a meeting when it's 9 AM for you might be midnight for a colleague. A timezone difference calculator shows the current time in both zones and helps you find overlapping business hours.

This tool displays the time in two selected zones, shows an hour-by-hour table ('when it's 9 in A, it's X in B'), and finds when both zones have business hours (9–5) at the same time.

Understanding Timezone Offsets

Timezones are relative to UTC. For example, US Eastern is UTC-5 in winter and UTC-4 in summer (EDT). The calculator uses the browser's Intl API to get the correct local time for any timezone, including daylight saving transitions.

The 'difference in hours' is the offset between the two zones at the current moment. Positive means the second zone is ahead; negative means it's behind.

Meeting Planner for Business Hours

The meeting planner finds when both timezones have overlapping business hours (default 9 AM–5 PM). For example, New York (9–5) and London (9–5) overlap when it's roughly 9–11 AM Eastern or 2–4 PM London time, depending on DST. Use this to schedule calls when both parties are in the office.
