How is the time difference calculated?

The difference is shown in hours. For example, if it's 12:00 in New York and 17:00 in London, the difference is +5 hours (London is 5 hours ahead). The calculator uses your browser's current moment and displays it in both selected timezones.

What does the hour-by-hour table show?

For each hour (0–23) in the first timezone, the table shows the corresponding time in the second timezone. Example: 'When it's 9:00 in America/New_York, it's 14:00 in Europe/London.' Useful for scheduling calls across timezones.

How does the meeting planner work?

The meeting planner finds overlapping business hours (default 9 AM–5 PM) between the two timezones. It shows when it's 9–5 in both zones simultaneously. For example, if you're in New York and your colleague is in London, the overlap might be 9–11 AM Eastern or 2–4 PM London time.

Why don't I see my timezone?

The dropdown uses Intl.supportedValuesOf('timeZone') when available, which includes 400+ zones. Common zones (UTC, US, UK, EU, Asia, Australia) are listed first. Scroll to find your zone or use the search (e.g., 'Sydney' for Australia/Sydney).

Does it account for daylight saving time?

Yes. The browser's Intl API uses the current DST rules for each timezone. When you view the current time, it reflects the correct local time including any DST offset. The hour table and meeting planner are based on the same rules.

Understanding Timezone Offsets

Timezones are relative to UTC. For example, US Eastern is UTC-5 in winter and UTC-4 in summer (EDT). The calculator uses the browser's Intl API to get the correct local time for any timezone, including daylight saving transitions.
