What is DuskTools?

DuskTools is a collection of free, fast, browser-based utility tools built for developers, designers, writers, and anyone who needs quick access to everyday utilities without the hassle of signing up, installing software, or worrying about data privacy.

We offer tools for formatting JSON, generating passwords, encoding/decoding Base64 and URLs, converting colors, generating UUIDs, counting words, converting text cases, creating hashes, generating placeholder text, converting timestamps, and previewing Markdown — with more on the way.

Privacy First

Every tool on DuskTools runs entirely in your browser. Your data never leaves your device. We have no backend servers that process user input, no databases storing your text, and no analytics tracking what you type. When we say private, we mean it — you can verify by opening your browser's network tab while using any tool.

Why We Built This

We were tired of searching for simple tools and landing on ad-bloated, slow websites that ask for sign-ups, show cookie consent banners larger than the tool itself, and send your data to unknown servers. DuskTools is what we wanted to exist: fast, clean, private, and free.

How We Stay Free

DuskTools is funded through non-intrusive display advertising via Google AdSense. This allows us to keep all tools completely free with no premium tiers, no sign-up walls, and no usage limits. If you find our tools useful, simply using them (and not blocking ads) is the best way to support us.

Technology

DuskTools is built with Next.js and deployed on Vercel's edge network for maximum speed. All pages are statically generated, meaning they load instantly from the CDN closest to you. The tools use modern browser APIs including the Web Crypto API for cryptographic operations.
