What Are Business Days?
Business days are typically Monday through Friday, excluding weekends. Some calculations also exclude public holidays. Counting business days is essential for SLA deadlines, contract terms, shipping estimates, and project scheduling.
This calculator supports two modes: count business days between two dates, or add a number of business days to a start date to find the end date. You can exclude custom holidays and use preset lists for US Federal or UK Bank Holidays.
Excluding Weekends and Holidays
By default, Saturdays and Sundays are excluded. The tool shows how many weekend days fall in the range. You can add custom holiday dates (YYYY-MM-DD) to exclude. Preset lists for US Federal and UK Bank Holidays (current year) are available — select one to automatically exclude those dates.
Custom holidays are merged with presets. Enter one date per line or comma-separated. Invalid dates are ignored.
Add Business Days Mode
In 'Add business days' mode, enter a start date and the number of business days to add. The calculator finds the date that is N business days later. Weekends and holidays (if configured) are skipped. Useful for 'payment due in 30 business days' or 'delivery in 5 business days'.
