About Central African Republic (CF)
The Central African Republic (CAR) is a landlocked country in central Africa, roughly the size of France. Bangui, situated on the Ubangi River bordering the Democratic Republic of the Congo, serves as the capital and primary urban center. The country has two official languages β French and Sango, a creole that serves as the national lingua franca. CAR uses the Central African CFA franc (XAF) within the CEMAC monetary union. For developers, the CF country code appears in locale configurations and the .cf ccTLD has become widely used for free domain registrations, making it one of the most registered African ccTLDs despite the country's small internet population. The +236 calling code is used for Central African phone numbers. The sg-CF locale for Sango is one of the less commonly implemented African language locales, presenting challenges for thorough internationalization testing.
