About Eswatini (SZ)
Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) is a small landlocked kingdom in Southern Africa, almost entirely surrounded by South Africa with a short border with Mozambique. It is one of Africa's last absolute monarchies. The country has two capitals β Mbabane (administrative) and Lobamba (legislative and royal). The Swazi Lilangeni (SZL) is pegged at par with the South African Rand, and both currencies circulate freely. For developers, the SZ country code remains from the old name Swaziland β an example of how country code mappings don't always reflect current names. The .sz domain and +268 calling code serve this small kingdom. The en-SZ and ss-SZ locales handle English and Swazi respectively. The dual-currency system (SZL/ZAR) is an important consideration for e-commerce applications, and the recent name change from Swaziland to Eswatini requires keeping country name databases up to date.
